Some publisher's guidelines make me wonder. I looked up one today that basically teaches grammar 101. Points include:

# Do not use alot. Alot is not a word. Use a lot.
# Do not confuse its with it is.

In spite of this, this same publisher also says this about their marketing:

"Books that sell over 200 copies in ebook format maybe considered for print."

Okay, "maybe" is an adverb, not to be confused with the conditional verb "may be." Get it right! "E-books may be considered for print" or "E-books are considered for print... maybe."
